The 8 months that started this
I did everything you are supposed to do. A good university — SGH, the Warsaw School of Economics. Internships. A clean, professional CV.
Then I started applying. Over the next 8 months I sent more than 1,000 applications. Most disappeared into silence. The rest came back with the same word: "unfortunately".
To pay rent, I drove a taxi from 5 a.m. and took construction shifts. Between rides, I kept refreshing my inbox.
The turning point was not motivational. It was technical. I learned that many companies run applications through screening software — an ATS, applicant tracking system — before a human reads anything. My resume was one generic PDF for every job, and it simply did not match what each job description asked for.
When I started tailoring my resume to each job description, answers began to arrive. Then interviews. Then an offer.
The frustrating part: tailoring by hand is slow — slow enough that almost nobody does it for every application. So after I got hired, I spent my evenings and weekends building the tool I wish I had during those 8 months.
What CVder does — and why it works this way
CVder takes your resume and a job description and rewrites your real experience for that role: a tailored resume, a cover letter, a message to the recruiter, and an explainable ATS score that shows exactly what matched.
Two principles are non-negotiable:
No invented roles or bullet points. CVder rephrases what you actually did so it speaks the language of the vacancy — and any number it estimates is yours to verify. The score explains itself, so you always see why it changed.
Your resume is personal data. CVder runs on EU servers and is built GDPR-first, because a resume is one of the most personal documents you own.
What I write about
The guides on this site cover what I had to learn the hard way: how ATS software actually screens resumes, how to tailor a resume to a job description, cover letters, and emails to recruiters. Where a popular statistic is shaky or debunked, I say so instead of repeating it.
